Robotic plotter for printing photos in the vertical plane

The work made by Lovro Listes presents the design and implementation of a robotic drawing system capable of reproducing photographs on a vertical plane. The proposed concept integrates appropriate electronic components with a simple mechanical structure. Custom, non-standard parts, such as motor mounts and the drawing tool holder, were manufactured using Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) technology. To enable the operation of the robotic drawing system, dedicated software support was developed. Photographs were processed and adapted for drawing using computer-based graphical methods. Software for communication with the microcontroller and motor drivers was implemented within the Arduino IDE environment. A mathematical model was developed to define the position of the drawing tool tip in the vertical plane, enabling precise control of the drawing process. Various command functions were implemented to execute specific tasks during operation. The complete system was subsequently validated through experimental evaluation.
