A robotic manipulator for printing photos

Student: Ivan Paradžik

This work presents the design and development of a low-cost robotic manipulator with three degrees of freedom, intended for photo printing applications.

The system combines a simple mechanical structure with a hardware control platform consisting of stepper motors for arm movement and a servo motor for pen actuation. The manipulator is controlled using a Raspberry Pi Zero W, enabling precise positioning within the defined coordinate system.

Control software, implemented in Python, is based on a mathematical model of the manipulator and processes input from an image-processing module that generates the drawing trajectory required to reproduce a photo. The system translates this trajectory into coordinated movements of the robotic arm.

Experimental results demonstrate successful image processing and physical reproduction of images using the robotic manipulator, highlighting the potential of low-cost robotic systems for creative and educational applications.
