Automated microclimate control system for indoor plant cultivation
Student: Elizabeta Tedeško
This master thesis presents the development and prototype of an Automated microclimate control system for indoor plant cultivation The introductury part discusses the concept of automation with an overwiev of existing commercial and DIY solutions and the application of the IoT concept in plant cultivation monitoring and management systems. After that the required system architecture based on a microcontroller and IoT communication is described, where the electronic components, the control part of the system and the program code required for the system operation are described. In the central part of the paper the creation of a prototype o fan automated nursery is decsribed, the basis of which is a small commercial greenhouse upgraded with a housing for water tank and electronic components. It also describes the operation of logic of the guidance and lighting system control with the help od local and remote control via the Blynk application. The thesis continues with a chapter on testing the system's operation in real conditions, where the stability and efficiency of the system are analyzed. Finally a conclusion is drawn about efficiency, advantages and disadvantages of such a system.
