LAPIS Welcomes New Researchers

We are pleased to announce that two young researchers, Marin Dominiković and Mihovil Njegovan, have joined the SAFER project as part of the research and development activities running from 2026 to 2029.

SAFER is an applied research and innovation project funded through the Competitiveness and Cohesion Programme (IRI S3) and coordinated by Pastor TVA d.d..

The project focuses on the development of a next-generation smart fire extinguisher integrating Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. The envisioned system enables continuous monitoring of device status and environmental conditions, including pressure, temperature, smoke, hazardous gases, and air quality. By combining intelligent sensing, connectivity, and integration with smart home ecosystems, SAFER aims to introduce a distributed model for early warning and fire prevention in residential environments.

During the project, the research team will work on the development of a functional prototype, supporting digital infrastructure, and validation of the proposed solution in realistic scenarios. The involvement of young researchers represents an important step in strengthening research capacities and transferring advanced AI and IoT knowledge into practical industrial applications.

We welcome Marin and Mihovil to the team and look forward to the upcoming research activities and project results.
