ExQuMe - New Erasmus + project

We are proud to be part of the ExQuMe – Explaining Quantum Mechanics project, an innovative Erasmus+ initiative rethinking how quantum physics is taught in higher education.

Coordinated by the University of Turku (Finland) (https://exqume.eu), ExQuMe explores the use of immersive Virtual Reality (VR) storytelling to make complex and abstract quantum concepts more accessible and engaging for students.

By combining historical scientific narratives with interactive VR environments, the project introduces a novel pedagogical approach that enhances conceptual understanding and student engagement. A strong focus is placed on inclusivity and increasing female participation in STEM, addressing important challenges in contemporary education.

Funded under the Erasmus+ KA220-HED programme, ExQuMe promotes international collaboration and the development of innovative teaching practices across higher education institutions.

Key outcomes of the project include VR-based learning modules, new educational frameworks, and evaluation methodologies, supporting the long-term integration of immersive technologies into university curricula.
